Frequently Asked Questions

Why haven't I heard about the Fitch Fuel Catalyst already?

There are thousands of new products every year.  The oil heat consumer would have normally heard about fuel oil efficiency technology from their fuel oil company.  Why would the fuel oil company want to reduce their oil sales and promote the use of less oil?  There's been over fifteen years of research and development in the Fitch Fuel Catalyst.  There was little interest until the price of oil was high enough for consumers to pay attention.  In 2008 the price of oil was over $5.00 per gallon.  The trends are showing that it's going that way again.

Are there fuel savings guarantees for the Fitch Fuel Catalyst?

The Fitch Fuel Catalyst Company guarantees the fuel savings performance from day one.  The Fitch Fuel Catalyst is licensed and registered under model number HO-UL5, for residential home heating applications.  For the homeowner, the Fitch Fuel Catalyst will deliver a payback of two years or less*.  There will be a permanent reduction in the amount of fuel that is consumed.  The immediate and permanent fuel savings are based on the appropriate nozzle (gph) size reduction.

*These savings are based on a minimum of 800 gallons at a minimum of $3.50/gallon. Note: Savings are also based on a continuing normal use of fuel.  Increased thermostat temperature does not figure into these savings.

What maintenance is required for the Fitch Fuel Catalyst?  How often does the Fitch Fuel Catalyst need to be cleaned?

The Fitch Fuel Catalyst is a passive device and requires absolutely zero maintenance.  It is a one time upgrade that will show immediate and permanent results.

Who installs the Fitch Fuel Catalyst?

The Fitch Fuel Catalyst is installed by a licensed oil heat technician, usually an HVAC technician, plumber, mechanical contractor, or oil technician.

Who comes to fix the Fitch Fuel Catalyst if something goes wrong?

Because the Fitch Fuel Catalyst needs no maintenance,  it should need no fixing.  The only thing that could be a problem is if a bad batch of fuel got into the system, the oil filter could get clogged (between catalyst and tank.)  If this were to occur the technician would clean it using a standard degreaser.

Is there any money back guarantee?  If I've had the Fitch Fuel Catalyst installed and after 30 days can I get a refund?

Money back is based on initial 10% reduction.  This is an in-line permanent reduction in the use of fuel/reduction in nozzle size.  If there is no reduction in the nozzle size and therefore no reduction in the use of oil, there is no charge.

*Note: Savings are also based on a continuing normal use of fuel.  Increased thermostat temperature does not figure into these savings.

How long does the Fitch Fuel Catalyst last?

The product has been working for over 12 years.  The Fitch Fuel Catalyst comes with a ten year warranty. After ten years you can return it and get a new one.  Fitch will give you a rebate toward the purchase of your new unit, and you can be at ease knowing it is a 100% completely recyclable catalyst unit.
